What are RCDs used for?
Residual Current Devices (RCDs) are designed to break an electrical circuit when a fault is detected. This keeps users of electrical devices and electricians working on them safe from shocks. They are ideal for use in any residential, commercial or industrial application.
The sockets in this new range feature a 30mA trip current, a 40ms trip speed, a test facility and mechanically latching sockets that won't trip during power failure.
What are Switched Sockets?
Switched sockets feature an on/off switch to easily and quickly control the power supply to the socket, even when an appliance is plugged in. As well as making the connection safer for users, it also reduces unneccesary power consumption and makes each device easy to isolate.
Our new range includes single and double gang sockets meaning the most appropriate size can for the space can be used.
Metal or Plastic?
Both materials have advantages and situations well suited to their use. While metal boxes are stronger, groundable and have a high heat-resistance, plastic is a cheaper, light-weight alternative.
